So I'm still very lucky!
My CR-190s (8v) were 7 years old last Dec. G13. Starting to show signs of age now. Daughter drives this cart daily to school this year so the charge cycles have increased dramatically. They're not going to see their 8th birthday but this is still very good for 8v batteries IMO.

Each time I hear the great Crown stories it makes me stretch my pickup location distance to get them!

I did find a fairly local dealer for them. I like the AGM ones you are using, but I see they are not available in 8 volt. Thanks for your input!

Thanks Tom47..that is odd....Crown did offer an 8 volt agm about
the time I ordered mine..

From the Crown Brochure of the time

8 VOLT SEALED DEEP CYCLE BATTERIES
GC8 8CRV165 165ah @ 20hr 130 @ 5 hr

Would like to have posted the the Crown1 brochure from when
I ordered mine...but somehow could not..

Can't imagine Crown discontinuing the 8v model

Perhaps there is another voltage pack you could go to..

Best wishes friend

The Crown 1 page you linked does not show 8 volt but they are available when I search the 8CRV165 number. I need to stay with 6-8 volt setup. Or lithium, which is out of reach for me for now.

Maybe my batteries will last 2 or 3 more years so I can afford lithium?!?!

Thanks and have a great evening!

Hi Tom 47

In the Crown1 agm line there are high ah 12 volts agms

12 volts x 4 get your 48 v with pretty good ah ratings...

I know it has been frowned on that 12v batts have fewer lead plates that 8 or 6 volt and thus shorter run times and shorter life expectancy...

That doesn't need to be the case here if higher capcity 12 volt
is chosen..(me thinks)

Best wishes my friend

Happy cartin'

Lithium batteries are about to be challenged by new solid state batteries
soon...Toyota is developing them..

Good read on this:

Just to add a crown vote I bought a DS a while back with 6x8v. If memory serves me properly they were 2012 I believe. Half of them were showing negative voltage and none of them had any water. With very little effort I was able to revive them to hold a great charge and muster 3+ miles out of a charge. Not bad for completely DESTROYED batteries.

I’d still like to try that experiment again with functional batteries that just aren’t quite performing the way they used to, instead of destroyed. But junk carts are just too expensive now unless I happen to get lucky.

I hope you find someone who is really tired of messing with their cart and will pay you to haul it off!
