Re: Club Car TRX Fab
Man I hate that I would have given you $ 300.00 for the rolling chassis. Those are hard to find.

Re: Club Car TRX Fab
That's not a 250r chassis. Looks more like a 250x. Great build though!

^ what it looks like to me no one would let a 250r frame go for that cheap. At least not around here.

No, usually not for a roller chassis. I love 250rs, probably had 5-6 over the past years. They are getting rarer and rarer.

What's the difference between a 250r and 250x frame?

Club Car TRX Fab
Box update: Previously I cut off 1/3 of the box so I have to option to back it into my truck bed (allowing most of the golf cart weight in the front of the bed instead of over the rear tailgate). Truck rides better now plus it just looks better having those big ole shocks out there for everyone behind me to see :D Couple months ago I finally got around to welding the hinges and everything back on so I now have a functioning tailgate again. Once ground down and painted, I can't even tell it has been modified. Been a couple months and I love the shorter box so far. Also put a fitted Rubber Mat to the bed and a rubber tailgate latch (just like a jeep hood) to keep things quiet when running through woods.

Wired up a bunch of switches to better control what's on and when. Hated having my reducer running all the time - maybe it's just me, but I wanted it on its own switch. I had to order special switches since I wanted them backlit and nobody makes a backlit switch to handle 36v ...but I think it turned out great.

Re: Club Car TRX Fab
After the vGlide welded itself wide-open on my wife, it was clearly time to upgrade. Went with ScottyB's C74 package with the works; 2GA cable, Super-Duty Solenoid, 700A controller & HD F/R switch. Started the install over the weekend. Everything you've heard about how great Scotty is - its all true.
1st mod: The kit came with a throttle linkage that links the existing throttle arm to lever which links to another arm that finally links to the new potentiometer. I wanted to cut out the entire new throttle linkage that came with the kit and simplify it, so I spent the better part of all day Saturday test fitting and designing a way to mount the potentiometer directly to the existing throttle arm. NOTE: There is nothing wrong with the universal throttle linkage adapter that comes with the kit, I just thought I could make it simpler for my cart. After a lot of test fittings, head scratching and beverage breaks I finally got the potentiometer to complete a full-range sweep — but it wasn't easy. I had to make a new aluminum bracket, increase the throw of the stock peddle, tweak the angle and length of the stock arm, and modify the throw arm of the potentiometer, but it turned out great. Its buttery smooth and solid. I've always wanted an aluminum skid plate, so this is a great excuse to add one and protect the potentiometer and everything else under there from sticks & mud (I once witnessed a 1" thick branch spear itself through the bottom a family members cart - ripping out wires in the process!). (pic is standing on passenger side pointing towards where the vGlide used to be. Potentiometer is now close to the center area where the old solenoid used to be). |

Re: Club Car TRX Fab
Controller and super solenoid installed. Controller is mounted upside down behind rear seats using 1/4" aluminum angle as recommended from ScottyB. Anyone else have their controller mounted this way?
