Default Club car DS Series

Recently replaced all batteries, motor, solenoid. Drove fine and then it stopped running, smelled burning and diode was smoking. Took it to a shop and they said there was a bad wire and they fixed it. Drove it off the trailer and literally 10 yards it just died. The shop wanted to charge me more to just look at it, I figured it could be the control or F/R lever, replaced both along with micro switches and one at the pedal. The controller is different with a Three lug but mine doesn’t have the brake. Solenoid clicks in forward and reverse also but when jumper wire is ran and wheels chalked, nothing.

97 and the old controller was a Curtis 1204-410

New one is a buggies unlimited 36-48 volt (Curtis #1204 short body) controller with four buss bars

So you are replacing a 3 bar (terminal control) with a 4 terminal control?
You can connect the 4 bar just like the old one leaving the 4th bar (A2) completely empty. That would be my recommendation.

Correct, I have done that and still nothing. I was thinking the overheating could’ve been caused from the old controller. I’ve traced wires back and haven’t found a break or loose connection as to why the cart just stopped working.

Any other suggestions?
