Default Caroche brake drums won't fit over new shoes

Got freed up for a few days . replaced the master cylinder and going to run a new line to the rear. Replaced the old worn out shoes, and rebuilt the leaky brake cylinders. Now i can't get the drums on . actually they will go on but are tight . the adjuster is backed off all the way. every thing is cleaned and I was going to get the drum turned but no one can turn a drum that small. I did sand off what little ridge there was. this is on my club car caroche.

Is there another adjuster underneath the floorboard attached to the pedal linkage? I know there is on my Yamaha cart. Not sure about the club cars though.

yes , have it loosened up as well. I worked on the drum for a while with some sand paper. it goes on now and turns free. NOW FOR THE NEW PROBLEM. I opened up the drivers side to discover a drippy gooey black mess. Me thinks the axle seal is shot. Uug! I'm bettin this is not gonna be easy. any threads on seal r n r ?

Seems I read in one of these posts that if you put the new shoes on upside down that will happen. I think it said that the leading shoe was different than the trailing shoe. That might not apply to you since your saying you have hydraulic brakes.

I have the brake drum problem sorted out . Thanks. I came to the conclusion that the shoes must be a part that replaces an earlier part and are a one size fits all sort of thing.
