What's happened at Duromax

In recent times with the production ending of the VC 460 clone my recommendation had been to start with a 440 cc Duromax due it's use of the 10 bolt cylinder case. A member got one recently and found it only had the more common 7 bolt case. A second change has cropped up where a couple of 420 cc units had an exhaust port angled off the cylinder head. SO is Duromax just scrambling for parts during the virus thing OR have there been permanent design changes ? So with this series of events I think Harbor freight would be my choice.

I only know HF got their clones from a Chinese maker, then they changed to a different one years back when the name changed on the engines. The duromax I don't know how they are sourced, but some of them make multiple engines because they service different countries, lifan makes various models of the v twin for example some have single carb some dual.
