Re: Project Car - 1987 Royal Ride - 100% Custom 72V
Thank you all for the kind words and the encouragement. We are very fortunate parents - he 100% engaged in projects like this. We do a lot of car stuff/projects together and he loves it.
The next batch of parts is in. The big green monster (Navitas 5kw) and lots of electrical parts. Photos attached. The frame work keeps getting put off - job & life, but planning to get to it with Harrison this weekend. THE BIG ISSUE - Jake's does not make the 6" Double-A Arm lifts for the older DS CC anymore. Spoke to them at length. They pushed me towards changing the hubs, to plastic cap 6110, then going with the 7463 lift (newer DS) and the disc brakes for it. Then, upon ordering it, they come back and tell me, that there are none available, stock might come in 30 days, but don't get your hopes up. This is a big snag, as all of it was supposed to go to powder coating with the frame in the next 1-2 weeks. I know parts are tight these days, but literally everything else I ordered is on the way, or in hand. Beyond disappointed that Jake's pushed me in this direction and then told no stock AFTER I ordered. I let them know I was disappointed, but you know how far that goes these days... I have to have front discs, as this will be a 40+mph cart when done with the 72V pack that coming. Resiliency is the emphasis of the build. Pics of the wheels coming soon - I am sure they will be very polarizing! |

Re: Project Car - 1987 Royal Ride - 100% Custom 72V
Got layout of new rear lights done. Old vertical spots will be filled. This was one of the last body mods that needed done before I’m ready to send it all out to paint. May wait a bit, as I wanted to have the cart ready to finish the build out when I put the body on.
The Jake’s lift/brakes delay is killing me. |
