'88 G2 hesitation at full throttle
Newbie here. Just bought this cart and the issue I'm having is when the accelerator is fully depressed the cart will accelerate to top speed for a few seconds, then hesitate for a few, the accelerate again, and so on. If I let up off the accelerator just a little to about 3/4 down the cart runs smooth. I replaced the top clips on the air box and that didn't seem to help. That is about the extent of my mechanical troubleshooting ability. Can anyone point me in a direction to start? I'm not a mechanic, but I can take things apart and put them back together

Re: '88 G2 hesitation at full throttle
The feeling you are describing is likely due to the governor. You're ground speed is at top speed and the governor automatically slows the cart down a bit. Because your foot is to the floor, the cart wants to accelerate again, then it hits the governor again. Repeat.
Taking your foot off the throttle just keeps the ground speed below the governor level. |
