Re: Little red!
Got home from the beach this afternoon and have been busy. I fixed a customers cart and then started on the little red coupe.
I ran another 36 volt solenoid up to the front and wired in a fuse panel off of it to run all the accessories. I can turn everything off with the key switch if I forget to turn the lights off are have the hill brake engaged it turns the brake lights off also. I also added a 80MPH GPS speedometer with 3 trip settings. I haven't programed it yet so those numbers are not mine. Only thing now is find a way to mount the GPS antenna so it picks up the signal good. Swap it over to 48 volts soon. |

Re: Little red!
Ok, I got the extra 36 volt solenoid done again. It took 3 of them but it's working all the time now. They were used ones I had saved. I threw the first 2 away. The third was a charm!
I took the steering wheel back off and polished it and painted it along with the center cap and put the cross flags on it. I got the speedometer & battery meter lights both the same. Working on the gear shifter now to match the wheel. Ordered me a Alltrax SR 500amp 12-48 volt controller with the fan, solenoid for it also. Hopefully with in a few weeks it will be going 48 volts with a PQ motor upgrade. |

Re: Little red!
Do they build any gas models of these cool carts or are they all electric?

Re: Little red!
Took all day to get this done but I think it turned out nice. Oh I fixed the brakes and got my hill brake working again. I jacked it up and started looking at the brake cables. They had them so tight the back wheel would hardly turn by hand. I got them all took a part and adjusted the rods and spring. Now I have good brakes and the cart rolls pretty easy now to.
According to UPS the new controller will be here tomorrow so I took the old 36 v controller out and already have it sold, the guy is coming tomorrow to get it! |

Re: Little red!
I installed a little motorcycle speaker setup on my cart. Little amp hides behind the dash and speakers are plenty loud. It's bluetooth. It has a volume knob so you dont have to mess with your phone much. Cheap MOD if you're looking to listen to tunes. Mine was around $70 and installed easily. Sweet cart BTW! Head turner

Re: Little red!
Well the controller and solenoid are installed. I haven't gone 48 volts yet so I'm still using the 36 volt solenoid. I went ahead and mounted the 48 -200amp solenoid so all I have to do is wire it when I get the batteries.
I also made a bracket to hold the controller flat and with it sitting this way it's a breeze to work on and it will get plenty of fresh air when running + the built in fan to keep it nice and cool. I turned the max amps down to 350 and voltage to 45. I turned min volts down to 24. I will reset them once I go 48. The cart wouldn't run set to 48 volts. That's how it came. |
