Supposed to be -8 tonight maybe coldest day of year. We get snow every day or two. I have roads here that have been white for two weeks as it does not get above freezing and little sun. It was sunny today but under 20, so bright I could hardly see lol. Snow is too deep for carting.

Last weekend we had 5"s of snow (which is unusual for here) then ice over it. My 13' of steps down from the house were still ice covered until monday. In the 20's most nites. Can't imagine what those poor souls in parts of Texas are having to endure.

I have family in TX and way south too, so only some ice but it was 23F for a while. 5th day the power came back on, it is a serious mess down there. Guess their windmills don't work in the ice. People sleeping in cars to stay warm. Now they have blown pipes all over the place, can't get water, can't buy water either the stores were empty. But gas was 2.08 there and 2.69 here, and that with many stations dark with no power in TX. At one time they said over 3 million customers were out of power. San Antonio had 5 inches of snow on the ground and then another ice storm came over. I don't think they even have plows down there they just wait a day and it melts, normally. Wed here I drove into work it was -12, I came home it was 25. Its been very cold teens at best for weeks now. Suppose to warm up this weekend maybe 40 next week so they are worried about flooding if the snow melts too fast. There is way over a foot on the ground here, there is a foot at least on my patio table lol. It was +12 this morning it felt kinda warm I turned off my seat warmer early lol. Some of the roads still have snow and ice on them from 2 weeks ago, for a week they were rough like pothole gravel roads they had so much snow stuck to them. Secondary roads.

I see Bullfrog racing now lists quite a few parts from Badass minis including parts for a 500cc unit and yet I don't see the block or specs how the 500cc's is obtained.

The usually incredibly reliable Vicki would not start yesterday. I traced it down to no fuel to the engine. I did a few quick test and found the very reliable vanguard fuel pump was not working. I had this same problem last year on Suzi the sled powered HD cart. There I switched to the Holley 12-426 mighty mite electric pump. I had bought an extra in case there was a problem on Vicki. So this a.m. I installed the Holley on Vicki and Zoom Zoom she fired right up.

The weather was not good enough for carting this weekend but returning from the Maurice River Diner back onto the island a large bald eagle flew out in front of the car. This was the first time we a got a closer look at how this magnificent bird uses it tail feathers in flight. Really cool.

Went down and did the cold start test on Vicki this morning. And she was fine. Even though she is chokeless she fires right up like an FI unit. I didn't know if going to the Holley pump would change this. It did not. Pic of course below
