Default Melex no go

Put brand new batteries in a melex of my dad's that he knows nothing about. I've only messed with club cars so the issue is not obvious to me. It has a controller but uses a large quick connect with a lot of small wires going in and out. It also has some terminals like the common Curtis controller on both ends. When applying the pedal there is no movement and no solenoid clicking. I've tested the microswitches and the solenoid and they all see to work. The cart is emaculant and none of the wires seem to have been messed with or cut. Where a club car uses the solenoid to cut power to the controller, this cart seems to take all the inputs through the controller first via the large connector. So I would say the controller actually actuates the solenoid.
Any ideas. Can't find any controllers that look like this one. What is the throttle input? Couldi just rewire it use a standard 1204 type controller?

Shoot an email over to Scotty B. He had a Melex that I believe was a controller cart. if not he may be able to point you in the right direction. I have only had experience with the resistor Melex's. I wish I could be of more help.

See if you can find and post a wiring diagram for this cart. Sounds like it might just be a simple problem like the solenoid not getting the activation signal.

It's weird. I was using a test light to understand what was hot and when I touched the test light to the negative of the solenoid, it would activate.
I'll see what I can find.

I should mention that even with the solenoid tripped, there is still no response when the pedal is pressed.

sounds like when you hook up the test light you are completing the circuit. sounds like something is missing or disconnected. now the fun of finding what it is.

The wiring diagrams on vintage carts all show controllers like in used to seeing. The one on this cart is different because it has a large connector plug in onesie and terminals on both ends. Hmm?
