82 Clutch/Belt problem
I cant seem to get my clutches and or belt working properly. I started a thread in the members cart section with the problem that I was having. I put a drive clutch and belt on that I got from Tom and it started working like it should. But when I took it to the camp grounds, it worked for a day or two and then done the same old thing.
http://http://www.buggiesgonewild.co...n-rebuild.html The problem is, the belt is to tight, causing the clutch to be engaged from the start. If I don't park it either level or down hill, I have to do the Flintstone, and help it get started . I finally figured out the driven clutch is not opening up when I stop or at very low RPM's. I can grab the belt and pull it which opens the driven clutch up and the belt loosens up and it works like it is supposed to. Got any ideas why the clutch keeps getting stuck. I drive it on very dusty roads at the lake, could that cause it. I say that because it worked fine at the house for a couple of weeks. But I drive it on the street or yard which is sodded. |

Re: 82 Clutch/Belt problem
Sounds like you have figured out your problem: clutch getting stuck. Finding out what is causing it might take a little more investigation. Is there any way to grease or oil the clutches on your model cart? Maybe a spring is sticking/broke.

Re: 82 Clutch/Belt problem
The ramp buttons are worn away, and the ramps are digging into each other. They have formed deep enough grooves to prevent the moveable sheeve from closing the rest of the.
You should consider replacing the driven clutch Howdy Mr. Spriddle, how is the family doing? Bob |
