New Drop-in Lithium Batteries
Relion have just released information and prices for a new Insight range of Lithium batteries that are designed to be drop-in replacements for wet-cell batteries.
They come in 12V, 24V, 36V and 48V sizes and you can parallel up to 128 with no additional hardware. The 48V has a 30Ah capacity so you'd need to parallel 3 or 4 of them in a golf cart. More information at relionbattery.com |

Yeah, they are expensive all right. You just have to hope that, like most things, the early adopters pay the big money just to be able to say that they have it, then the price comes down for the rest of us.

Re: New Drop-in Lithium Batteries
(3) 48 volt units $3150.00, I understood it to say no special charger needed. Plug and play $3150.00, how does that compare to the total cost of retrofitting a cart with the Leaf batteries? They're very close to me. It may be worth a road trip to check them out. I don't understand why there is no dealers in the southeast.

You could get 14 leaf modules (120ah) and components (BMS and Charger) for way less than that. I would venture to guesstimate around $2000-$2500. |

Re: New Drop-in Lithium Batteries
I must have missed it. I thought it said $1050 each. Based on your $2K to $2.5K price, are those used Leaf batteries? What is the price for new leaf modules? What do you estimate the total cost is for your setup?
