I've been running 128:1 in my 85 for over 20 years with no problem and no smoke, and I run mine hard everyday. When I first got it I couldn't believe it should be that lean so I put 6oz oil in 5 gallon gas, it smoked pretty bad so I never ran it that rich again. I'm also very picky on getting the mixture exact....
I never ever estimate it by mixing it in the tank, I always 'premix' in a gas can with exactly 5 gallon gas with 5oz oil. Swish it up good then pour it in |
