Big block swap clutch Inquiry
Good day all.
I have competed a duromax 420cc swap on my club car. It's electric Start so it idles at a stop. I have a comet clone drive clutch set for a 1" belt and a stock driven clutch. I also have 8:1 gear set in the transaxle as it runs forward in reverse gear due to the rotation of the new engine. My issue is. When going down hills the clutches seem to be still engaged and the engine revs high when going down hills. Has anyone had this issue or know how to resolve? I have the stock rear spring in the driven clutch and yellow springs in the comet clutch. The drive clutch engages around 1000rpm. |

How tight is your drive belt? How much deflection is there?

Not much deflection on the belt. It doesn't slip.
I think I figured out the issue. The stock driven clutch spring is the issue. I put in a red power spring and it seems better. |
