Just an arm hooked to nothing as the cart was engine-less when I picked it up. Any advice on what to do with it as it’s not hooked up but seems to possibly be limiting my groundspeed? Could this limit my ground speed?
Had a similar issue with my Ezgo, went from 26 mph to 19. My troubleshoot was the clutch not the governor, So i installed 6:1 speed gears and kicked me back up to 29. If i went back to my CVTech clutch I ran roughly 38. I plan to do a full comparison from 780 Comet(7"), CVTech(7.5") 7 the 1190 Comet(8"). so from the 1/2" difference I lost like 8 mph.

I figure the 1190 is going to get me around 40-45 area, I am not after speed but lower rpms at cruising speed. Think of it like a 10 speed bike with the front & rear gears being different sizes.

Happy hunting

So I installed the 6:1 gears from the Club Car DS. They installed fine and bearing from original gears pressed in without issue. The problem is the ring gear and pinion gear don’t mesh. There’s about 1/2” between the gears so I’m guessing these are simply wrong for the application. Any help with a gear set that will fit the Carryall 472 with diff lock would be appreciated.

Here’s the axle tag for reference. Just looking to verify what gears will fit this.

Try reaching out to David Hicks @ Revolution Golf Cars. If there’s gear set avalible for your rear end he could tell you and probably get it for you.

I did reach out to David yesterday and eagerly awaiting a reply.

In the parts schematics for a Carryall 272/472 they list two transaxles, both locking, most of the parts are the same except for a few.

The pinion on one has 13 teeth, and its paired with 72 tooth output gear.
The pinion on the other has 12 teeth, paired with 64 tooth output gear.

I have the 13/72 set in my cart and it's 15:1 forward and 20:1 reverse.

So my questions is what ratio will the 12/64 combo provide if these are my only option and no other gears fit? Thank you all for the assist.

That may be your final drive ratio but your gear ratio is ring/pinion or 72/13 which is 5.54 so 64/12 is 5.3
