Default Re: 2022 Icon programming cable

I have reprogrammed around 15 Icons here in the golf community in AZ where I live. Went to do one today and couldn't get communication. Of course, it was a new 2022 cart so I immediately went here to see if something was different. Of course, it is.

Can someone help me out with the software? Pretty please?

I'd probably buy that one if I was making a cable today and needed to buy a cable.

this one uses a different usb serial chip but it _should_ still work:

the prolific chip is a little cheaper than the ftdi one so the cable is a little cheaper.
Hi, brand new to this, I bought the linked cable above and a 2x2 molex, any tips on what to do next? Do I need to splice the wires into the molex somehow?

Thanks for any help.

Yes, you'll need to crimp the pins on to the three wires coming out of the cable.

Ok, got that done, now where do I plug it in? Tried what looked like a plug into the charger, that didn't work, and tried the EMB port under the run button, also didn't work. Took off the panel under the the back seat, saw nowhere to plug it...

There should be only one connecter it mates with, which is next to the emb switch. If it doesn't work, try swapping rx and tx.

OK found, but still getting the Red dot near Comm when trying to connect. Has anyone successfully connected with the 3 wire cable solution? Tried swapping them as well no luck....

Yes. I only use 3 wires. See the picture I attached. Ignore the red wire. This is a special cable I made for a Bluetooth adapter that needs the power. You don't.

This view is the backside of the connector as if you were looking into it when plugged into the cart. The white wire should be connected to the tx pin on your USB serial adapter. The yellow wire should be connected to the rx pin on the adapter. Make sure it is in 3.3 v mode. Also make sure you have the correct drivers installed and you have chosen the correct com port.

OK thanks! I did have it wired wrong following a different diagram. However, you are referencing an adapter I may be missing as well, I bought this https://www.amazon.com/Serial-Adapte...2s9dHJ1ZQ&th=1

and then wired it directly to the molex connector. Did I screw that up as well?

You have the correct adapter. Ignore the board in my picture.
