Re: 2000 EZGO: Slow Acceleration?
This thing has me wanting to pull my hair out.
Spoke with the one who rebuilt the motor. They recommended to look at the fly wheel to make sure it was put on the notch properly and to double check that the timing is in line as those were 2 issues they've seen to a similar situation. |

Re: 2000 EZGO: Slow Acceleration?
First timing is not adjustable on these motors. The air gap is between the pickup and the flywheel but if that is off it usually won’t run at all. Not just start out kinda weak but drive fine once it’s up and going.
Secondly, if I paid someone to rebuild my engine. And they tell me to pull the flywheel and make sure it was installed properly I’d question the rest of the work done during the rebuild as well. They shouldn’t make/ask the customer to check THEIR work. I still feel you have a carb issue. Are you SURE it is an oem carb? You say it is but they’re a few hundred bucks for oem ones. If you didn’t pay at least $200 for it from an authorized dealer it’s probably not oem. And aftermarket carbs usually make these run like poopie |
