![]() Ok I bought this cart cause I'm a sucker for diamond plate. LOL. Actually I got the cart pretty cheap. For $300 I felt the need to buy it. It has a 9hp Briggs Vanguard engine with a cracked block, which from what I've read is the stock motor minus the crack. Anyway, I pulled the motor but I have no idea how to get the clutch off. I've popped several different clutches off but never on a Par Car. There are no threads on the inner center hole so I can't thread a bolt into it. I can't seem to find any specialty tools to do it. Anybody have any suggestions? Maybe shop tricks?

![]() Are there any threads way down in the hole near the end of the crankshaft?
I'd turn it up and spray some PB Blaster in the hole and let it sit. That helps alot but you'll still have to have a way to pull the clutch off. I'm vaguely remembering a clutch that actually turned off the crank instead of being pulled off. I could be thinking of something else though. Did you try turning it? If you look down inside the hole and see a 1/4" keyway then it has to be pulled off. If you don't see the keyway and key then it may turn off. |

![]() Lochlin - I thought about a big wheel puller but I don't want to break it. Looking around on ebay, that clutch is extremely expensive.
backyard - I never thought about that...it could spin off. Hmmm, I'll have to look more closely at it. Thanks for brining that to my attention. |

![]() The service manual mentions a clutch puller and part number but I did not see a photo of it. There might be one there somewhere.
