Charger will not shut off!!
I have a 2001 Powerdrive plus Club Car DS. My charger will not shut off. I have changed the OBC two times. I have tried three different chargers. What else could be the problem?

Re: Charger will not shut off!!
Hello ayobiz and Welcome to the forum.
You could have a battery wired in backwards or a shorted battery. |

Re: Charger will not shut off!!
When you say won't shut off, how long are you letting it charge for? What voltage are the batteries coming up to?

Re: Charger will not shut off!!
You may have a dead or low battery cell. That will cause the charger to keep trying to charge your battery park.

Also, make sure that you ran the negative cable from the battery back through the obc when you reconnected everything from the obc swaps. If the cable is not in there it will not work right.

Re: Charger will not shut off!!
The charger should shut off after 16 hours , regardless of battery condition or OBC.
Is this happening ? |

Re: Charger will not shut off!!
The cart has a new set of batteries. Charger stays on longer that 16 hours if allowed and batteries had a reading of 54 volts, meaning overcharged! The charger is a Powerwise 2. I am using a lester 21155-02 OBC (OEM 1019099-02).

Re: Charger will not shut off!!
OK.... The Powewise II is normally a 36 volt EZGO Charger. Something is not adding up here. Based on that, the charger should be shutting off early not staying on to long. Is it possible someone has been inside this charger and has jump over the relay? Is the plug you are plugging into the car round, gray and soft rubber or is it black oval and hard plastic?

Re: Charger will not shut off!!
Sorry, my mistake. The charger is PowerDrive 2. The relay has been changed new and I do not know how to check the rectifier, if that could be the problem.
