Charger will not shut off
I have a '04 CC 48v cart. I had it in the shop last week because it was not holding a charge. They put in two USED batteries, for whatever reason, but here is the thing. The automatic charger will not shut off. It was doing that before I had it in the shop. I thought it was because the batteries were bad. Cart is running fine except for this. It goes to 15 and eventually comes back down to aroun 6 or 7 and just sits there. Any advice on this?

Not sure what an obc is? I know very little about carts...need to locate a manual somewhere.

On Board Computer. It tells your charger when to shut off is one thing it does.

Re: Charger will not shut off
Sounds like you may still have a bad battery or a battery out of balance with the others. If one battery is still bad, charger will keep trying to bring up the total voltage. This could lead to overcharging your good batteries. Did you check each battery voltage and total pack voltage? If all the voltages are correct, then have the OBC checked.

Re: Charger will not shut off
When U say charger won't shut off , how long are U leaving on ?
If this is a automatic CC charger then it will shut off automatically after 16 Hours, or when charge completes whichever comes First . |

Re: Charger will not shut off
To truely analyze this problem you will need a voltmeter and a hydrometer. Otherwise, we are just guessing at the facts & specifics Once we determine the batteries are okay we can start to suspect the wiring and/or the obc.....

Re: Charger will not shut off
Thanks for all the responses. I will try the volt meter and hydrometer and watch the charger this weekend and go from there. Thanks again.
