Re: No rear brakes 2000 club car
there are some really good post about brakes in the forum.i myself had trouble with my rear brakes.2001 cc 48v.found that the springs have to be put back in the right direction especially the bottom one and the slide mechanism is the part that holds your brakes centered after they have been applied and then released. it also incorporates the adjuster so it all has to be working properly for them toadjust. hope this helps.

Re: No rear brakes 2000 club car
You have to make sure your cables are good and your shoes are not on backwards.Your your adjusters should have been cleaned and oiled to ensure they work.

this is true cables have to be lubed also, some times even replaced when they get kinks in them or frayed.

Re: No rear brakes 2000 club car
the shoes ahve numbers on them to identify which is the trailing shoe and which is the leading shoe. think the one with 17L on it is the rear one and 17T
is the front. |

That's one of the models that uses one short and one long shoe per side? If so, did you install them correctly?

Re: No rear brakes 2000 club car
You cant really oil cables effectively, but if they are kinked or frayed they are history. They need to move back and forth with little or no effort.

Re: No rear brakes 2000 club car
the shoe with 17L always goes to the rear. and probably your seizing brakes are due to lubrication problem either on the backing plate and the shoes or the slide that has the adjuster on it.
