Assuming the motor is good, and installed/wired correctly, re-read Nole's post #12.

Yes, but that is only if the main solenoid (contactor) is not closing (clicking). If it is, that MCOR microswitch is operational.

It's clicking.
So what should next step be? Is there another test to verify a failed MCOR for the cart not moving at all.

Keep in mind, the cart ran Saturday with old motor with some hammer taps. Seems if the MCOR failed open, it wouldn't run at all?

There are 2 parts to the MCOR; 1 is the MS which is a permissive for the solenoid to close. The other is the Potentiometer which tells the controller where the throttle is at in relation to regulating the motor.

Well, now I'm even more confused...
Went out earlier and tried cart again and it took off!!

But, it was jerky/hesitant at times, mainly on takeoff. Apparently, I had a 2-part issue from the beginning. Motor and MCOR. Not sure if/how they were related?

Sounds like the potentiometer in your MCOR is faulty and sending an erratic signal when your problem occurs. Only other thing would be a faulty controller.

Can you tell anything about the OEM motor from this pic?

Need to look at other end. Pull the end cap off to see the brushes.

That blob is for balancing. It looks like it may be starting to come loose.

It does seem that you are having multiple issues.

MCOR4 upgrade would be next, you have it and and will need it in the future.
I would install it.
