no reverse , drives in forward ok
Club Car 1998 48 volt
Goes fine in forward no drive at all in reverse Reverse buzzer works and solenoid clicks I suspected the rotary F/R switch but visually checks ok, rusty but not burnt or melted Was unsure weather to pull apart F/R switch to check 100% and clean Is it possible to swap two cables on the F/R switch to see if I then have reverse but no forward drive to confirm the F/R switch is the fault |

Denval,
I don't know allot about that F & R switch, but there are also micro switches for each position, did you test them to see if they are working? I expect one of the pros will see your post soon, and give you some additional help. Aflyer |

Re: no reverse , drives in forward ok
I'm certainly no pro (at least with carts) But I'd give a hard look at the 3rd (closest to the batteries) m/s switch. By the print I'm looking at the green wire should connect to the top lug. The black (with the resistor) on the middle lug and the white to the bottom lug. The common could be miss-wired.
And yes you can swap the orange and blue cables at the F/R switch and get full speed reverse. . |

Check the connections to your motor.

Re: no reverse , drives in forward ok
if the switch isn't melted, then it is the mirco closest to the batteries on the F/R switch

Re: no reverse , drives in forward ok
If the ms closest to the batteries is okay you can swap the 2 cables on the small swivel terminals. if this reverse the problem direction, replace the F&R with my HD F&R switch CC92F

Re: no reverse , drives in forward ok
My mate ( the owner ) has been using his cart pushing it when he needs reverse
Will have to wait until he leaves it with me again before checking it out further. |
