4 month old batteries discharging too fast
i just bought new batteries at the end of April. This is a 97 ezgo textron the first two months the charge would last all day riding around in the neighborhood. Now out of the blue the bars go down three bars after about 2 miles. The water is right, no corrosion either. Any suggestions?

LED bar graph meters can be a very poor representation of what's going on. Get a digital battery meter and give us some hard numbers.

I agree that a digital meter is the way to go. Also, have you double checked the tightness of everyone of your terminals? How about the tightness of your heavy duty wires on your controller? And those on your F\R switch?
When the batteries are supposedly discharged, have you used a volt meter to actually check the pack voltage and each battery individually to determine the charge? Just some thoughts. |

You need to check them after charging too to make sure you are getting a full charge.

Yes I have checked them with the meter after charging over night and they all read 6.3. I'll check all the connections. Ty

Re: 4 month old batteries discharging too fast
Ok I had it charging today and kept an eye on it. It took about all day to charge. Then when it was at 0 it wouldn't turn off, so I jiggled the hot wire going to the f/r assembly and the charger stopped running. Was it draining the charge by not going off?

But...wait...when you say "You juggled the hot wire going to the F\R assembly" exactly what "hot wire" (thin or thick) and where was this wire coming from? |
