Default What year is this cart? Looking at buying it, whats a fair price?

I am looking at a few carts, one club car and this yamaha. Anyone know what year it is, the guy is not sure and thinks it may be a 1997. What would be a fair price for this cart if it all checks out? He is asking $1500, Im a newbie and not sure if this is a high price or not.
Anything I should look out for? Hoping to go look at it later today or tomorrow, what are things I should look at, like any common issues?

That picture could be a 1995 thru 2002 G-14 or G-16. If it doesn't have air intake under driver seat thru body then it could be a 1996-2002 G-16A

Thanks! If I get the serial number, is there somewhere online I can look up the year?

Is it gas or electric? Those are fine carts and if it's gas comes with the 10.5hp motor and it's a really nice one. $1500 might be on par for your area but I'd still try to get him down. I prefer yamaha's over club car I own both. If it's electric I wouldn't pay 1500 unless it has batteries that are under 2 years old.

It is gas, if it all checks out, I think I will offer him $1100 and maybe he will counter with 12-1300. I will let you know what happens! Wish me luck!

Wish you good luck. Like craig tn said, 1500.00 is a fair price for a good condition G16-a. Be carefull, sometimes trying to low ball will get you a "no sale" at any price if you make the seller angry. I've actually increased the price after a low offer, then sold it the same day to another buyer. You never know. Make shure it doesn't smoke and that the engine is quite and there is no "growling" noise when you drive it, those could be expensive fix's.

I prefer gas. Good luck if you get it you'll fast in love with it FAST. They are truelly great carts. Go to the video section on this forum and look at jumping a G16. I know how tuff they are lol. Even if you do end up paying the full 15 it's worth it if the motor fires up and doesn't smoke.
