Smile tiny tach for 16h.p. v-twin

I just picked up my tiny tach from the shop.My question is can I splice the wire to make it longer.The way i want to route it is to short. thanks you Steve

I don't think it will work. It is not just a normal wire. It has a wire inside a wire. I guess like a coax cable.

Doolin is right, it is a tiny coax. You can splice it but there is one wire inside the other and its kinda a pain. I've done it successfully though.

Where can a person find this coax at Radio Shack or some other store. thank you for your replies. I appreciate the info. thank you Steve

I've done it with speaker wire in the past But it worked I really dont know where you would find it? I would google it.

I think a person could use the coax from a old car radio antenna.

You can go to the Tiny Tach website, and order a new one that has a longer wire. It's $10 IIRC.

Might be easier than trying to extend it.
