2006 precedent light install 4x12v batteries
So I am A first time golf cart owner. I have a 2006 club car precedent with 4 12 V batteries. I bought a light kit to install and need some help with the wiring. According to The Amazon listing I do not need a bucket harness to reduce from 48v to 12v But I don’t know where to hook up the fuse wire assembly. According to the directions there should be a blue wire coming off a battery to connect it to but there isn’t. Please work with me if I don’t make sense like I said, first time owner.

Re: 2006 precedent light install 4x12v batteries
If you look in the attached pic, you would come off battery #1 Pos cable and Neg cable to get 12vdc. As long as you come off the same battery's Pos and Neg you will only get 12 volts. If you skip over to another battery's Neg you are going to get 24, 36, or 48 volts.
It is really best to install a 48v to 12v reducer as that helps your pack to last longer as there is not a burden on just one battery. |

Re: 2006 precedent light install 4x12v batteries
So just to be clear, I should make a wire with a connector from the #1 battery connect the fuse wire assembly and the other side of that should go to the blue wire in the electric component box?

Re: 2006 precedent light install 4x12v batteries
Not sure of "the blue wire in the electronic component box" you are referring too. You needed a 12v power supply and I am showing you where to get the Pos (+) and the Neg (-) from. If you have found the missing wire from your first post and verified it is your 12v Pos (+) connection, you can use it.
This is why it is best to use a 12v reducer and fuse block as then there is no ambiguity.... |

Re: 2006 precedent light install 4x12v batteries
In the video on you tube there is a wire off a positive pole on the battery and then you plug the fuse wire assembly into the electric component area which I’m assuming provides the power to the wire harness behind key panel. I can’t post links but search precedent light install on you tube. It is a mad Jax video 6:31 long. Thanks for your help. I really don’t want to blow my new light out.

Re: 2006 precedent light install 4x12v batteries
Ok, behind the panel, the 9-pin connector and the 4 other wires next to it just get tied off and are not terminated for this install. The 12-pin connector goes into your factory wiring harness as shown in the video. The 6-pin connector will go to your front light and the 2 yellow wires will connect (any order) to the switch you installed.
Under the seat, (be sure you are in Tow on your Run/Tow switch) On battery #4 (Passenger side front most battery as depicted the picture I originally attached) the Pos (+) terminal is where you need to hook one side of your fuse assembly wire. You can cut off the connector it has now if there is no 10g factory wire present and then install a 5/16" ring connector. The other end will connect to the Blue 12g wire that you see inside your component box. Either end can attach to either terminal. This is to supply power to your harness and switch. Check all your connections, then reconnect your cables if you had removed them for safety purposes, then go back to Run on your Run/Tow switch, and you should be ready to go... |

Can I just add the connector to the positive pole? |

Re: 2006 precedent light install 4x12v batteries
I cannot see it in your pic but if it is on the Pos (+) post of the #4 battery then that is the one you are looking for as described in the directions...

Look right?
The blue line is the fuse wire assembly. |
