Default Re: Starting My Lithium Conversion

I got my batteries and now I'm on vacation. I will start when I get back. Fedex had me sign for the batteries, but didn't ask for ID. So much for direct signature require.

Still waiting on the charger, but it should have shipped this week.

@Jkerle - I will probably hit you up with a few questions. The CAN wiring has me a little confused. The display is designed to be at the end of the CAN bus, so I assume it is terminated with a resistor. The BMS only has one set of terminals. Do I just pair 2 sets of wires in the BMS?

Thanks

NP man, I have the charger and the monitor using the same terminals on the BMS with out issue. The monitor comes with the resistor already installed inside of it so no need to add one.

I'll check when i get home. What I did was cut the cord on the club car charger and wired the TC charger to the original charging port.

Ok, I remember what I did. From the TC charger to the charging port on the cart. (this is charger power)I ran a 12gauge extension cord. I bought one at home depot and cut the ends off. I used the same 12gauge cord to run from the charger to the battery. To do all of this you need to remove the OBC that's connected to the OEM charging port then install a jumper on the plug. It works pretty slick when it's done.

Charger mounted with some 90 degree brackets found at tractor supply in the fence hardware isle.

OBC jumper. The plug disassembles pretty easily.

Thanks for that info. So you plug 120 VAC into the charge port?

Yepper, I've removed the OBC completely. I'm not sure what would happen to it if you leave it connected.
