Default G16 blowing main fuse

I have been having an intermittent problem with my g16 blowing the main fuse. I have been using 20 amp fuses. Sometimes I can drive it all night with no problem. Other times I can't even get it to start before blowing. I did have an issue with a wire from the lighting harness grounding out on the frame and burning up the wire. I went through and unhooked the harness from the battery but was still having issues. Today I took that entire harness out and it seems to be doing much better, maybe a coincidence? What are some of the other issues that make these fuses blow so I can check them out.
