1998 seat conversion to 2000.5, armrests, bottom and backs
I like the beefier armrests and single seat back of the newer Club Cars so I want to convert my 1998 front seat bottom, armrests, and front seat backs to that newer style.
Bottom assembly- does it use the same hinges? I assume I need to buy a new bottom assembly for the new style armrests to attach to? Seat backs- I wanted to get the carbon fiber backing. Will it just bolt into my existing supports or did they change the location/dimensions of the supports since 1998? Any suppliers out there carry what I need... send me a pm with a price. |

Re: 1998 seat conversion to 2000.5, armrests, bottom and backs
here's my .02
the seatbacks i am not sure of but they do look better as for the seats, the newer plastic ones are not as strong in my opinion. they do use the same hinges. as far as I know you will need a whole bottom seat assembly as the plastic ones are about 2 or so inches narrower than what you have now. When I bought my 94 someone had changed the bottom seat assembly. I thought cool! when the wife and I got on it I thought it was smaller. a check with a tape measure confirmed this. I wish i could swap mine out for an older one to get some width back. much easier than going on a diet! -Aaron |

Seat back bolts right on see the 89 CC in my signature? It is wearing a 2003 body seats steering wheel roof supports and roof ....bumpers...paint the glove boxes black. You can,t tell it from a newer one without the serial #.

great, thanks! I'll check out the site sponsors first to see if anyone carries them...
can the front winshield/roof supports do without the angle bracket that attaches to the aluminum trim? I've seen carts with and without them. |

Club Cars have them, Yamahas don't. It really depends on how secure the back mounting assy is.
I had them off of my daughters CC when I painted it and it was not as stable. I would say keep them but dress them up if you can, paint them or polish with neverdull of something. |

I'll be putting on an extended top also and getting new struts to support it most likely. THen I'll see how stable it is. I didn't know if there was some change in the mounting brackets like they were re-engineered to do without the extra supports.
