Default 36v to 48v conversion on 2000 ds club car.

Just bought a 2000 ds. I think it has been converted to a 48v.
My problem is when I step on the go pedal and hear the first click then depress the pedal just a little more The machine will snap your head back. Too much torque. Has a 700 amp. controler.

This old coddger can"t handle this! What's wrong? What can I do?

If you have the wrong throttle type the cart and the control will not sync.
What is the model # of the controller?

Since the cart starts off at full throttle you will need to test the throttle signal. We know it should be around 5000 to start and near 0 when the pedal is on the floor.
Simply remove the 2 small wires plugged into the controller pins #2&3 and plug your test meter into these spade connectors. Set the meter to ohms. A 20,000 Ω range is best. But any reading such as 5.5 would represent 5500Ω

The grandson here! The wire connected to the wiper is now on #3 and wire furthest away is on #2 . Cart acts normal no hard take off in forward or reverse now . Operates smooth . And since the cart was a 36 to 48 conversion I can't find any descent diagrams.

The controller was made by Logisystems for BU. We sold them for a while. The company folded up a few years ago. If the control fails the FSIP GE control I showed would be the closest replacement but, the Alltrax SR48500 would be the best replacement for a few dollars more. Enjoy the ride

Unhappy Re: 36v to 48v conversion on 2000 ds club car.

Well, it seems that I still have a little jump. But no near the JERK I had before.
When I press the go pedal and hear the click and press a wee little more the cart will roll slowly, press a wee bit more it will jump a little and go. Very annoying! Please don't tell me this is normal.

Checked the springs and u-bolts and seems to be tight.
Could it be a backlash in the splines on motor or axles that I'm hearing?
