Default Faullty F N R Switch?

I have a 36v cart that occasionally will not go in forward. I am 99% sure it is the FNR switch. When everything works, I have a constant 36v across all lugs of the FNR Switch, But when it does not want to work, with the accelerator up, there is 36v on the A1 lead, but when I press the pedal down the 36v drops to zero volts on that lug. I wiggle the FNR switch and 36volts shows up on that lead and it goes forward, but my question is what is making the voltage drop to zero on that lug when depressing the pedal when it does not go?

Not familiar with the Yamaha so much but in a series cart with a rotary type F&R (which you have) If the cart runs when you wiggle, bang, push, or slam the F&R lever then you have bad contact in the switch.

Totally agree, was just trying to figure out the voltage drop but did figure it out. There is a burnt contact and a slight bubble of copper that would read 36v but not enough metal to run so it would drop the voltage.

I dont know if you have a G2-G9 or a G14-G16 (you didnt say). the G14-16 had a weak FnR, i convert them to EZGO FnR, You do have to mod the EZGO switch slightly to accept the Yamaha shift handle and drill two new bolt holes in the EZGO FnR board, but other than that, it bolts in and hooks up no big deal. MUCH MORE DURABLE!!!
