Default 2001 DS MCOR 3 replacement ?

My 2001 48v DS has been very jumpy at lower throttle and takes pumping the pedal multiple times to get it to run smoothly at full throttle. It's pretty much full speed or nothing. Been putting up with this for a year now and it's getting worse. Based on what I've read it sounds like I can replace with the MCOR 4.

On a DS, is it easy to replace from under the passenger side? (I've only found videos showing the Precedent).
