I also use a simple circuit with a hidden reed switch and a relay to activate the cart.

Once the key switch is turned ON, You need to wave a magnet within a inch of a certain spot on the dash board to activate the reed switch hidden behind the dash.

The key switch only directly turns on the 48v->12v converter so You can keep the lights on or listen to music, but the rest of the 48v system does not work until the kill switch closes the relay.

use a push in cigarette lighter as a kill switch, and no one will know it's a kill switch

I used the same thing on my car anti theft back in the 70's. I had a magnet and a reed switch behind the plastic dash. I don't like the magnet anymore because there are too many things that don't like magnets near them but it worked great.

I agree, I would never carry a magnet in my pocket.

I have a church key beer opener stuck to my steering column with a magnet and a few other coin size magnets stuck around the cart for backup purposes.

So if you happen to drive by a recycling plant you could wind up with a bunch of random metal stuck to your cart?

LOL, those fridge magnets would not attract as much metal as some carts full of speakers would attract.

Plus a beer bottle opener is an essential survival tool.

I would prefer to use this kill switch.... It's only good out to a mile and a half (with open sights...)but....

I know I'm not helping..... Good luck! In the city I would be worried about CartJacking with the ensuing low speed chase....
