Battery pricing questions

OK, I need 4 batteries. One reason is so that I will have 4 matched batteries. Right now I have 2 different pairs/brands. Each pair is its own match but that's the end of the matching.

2nd, a terminal came loose, I know, battery maintenance needs, and a terminal was fried.

Well, I have read nearly every recent post on here about battery pricing and I see y'all push the heck out of Trojans. No problem. I still looked around and was told Sams has good prices. I went and looked and they are $199 per battery. What I have seen online for Interstate was darn close to $300.

I have called local dealers and looked at their online sites and I can get Trojan T1275's for 145-159 $'s.

Now, what am I missing. I fully expected to be reamed for 4 12V batteries based on my reading around here but the Trojans appear to be right reasonable. Am I missing something?

And I suppose it is shipping.

Speaking of the power tron, that is what one buddy uses and they are even cheaper. What is the opinion there?

with a med duty use they are great .. heavy duty they are fair my 2 cents

What are the Amp Hour ratings of the batteries you are considering? I would go for the largest AH rating.

I suppose that is in comparison to those T1275's?

yes, i have used both in 4x12v carts .. for long runs you should go 6 x8v

I have heard that before. And I don't doubt it. And as long as I'm getting new batteries you would think I would put some serious consideration into it. Well, I have but I probably have left room for more.

From what I've seen I would have to get a tub to hold the batteries. I would also be inclined to get a new controller and many more parts other than the 2ga battery cables I am going to get.

However, my boys are 14 & 16 & are itching for speed and lift. I'm just not going to do that all right now. Well, maybe a few mph by flipping the speed switch or changing magnets but I am more inclined for torque at the moment. We have a few serious slopes and long hills at the deer club. The ruts are there too and too fast may throw the boys.

Anyway, it will be mainly stock for a while longer.

I am open for suggestions. We have 3k acres to hunt and the boys have already drained the batteries once.

Ya know, that wouldn't be bad but I want the quiet of electric. Also, I believe the gas stink gets on my hunting clothes. I suppose I could get some no scent spray......
