From Darling to Dead.. what to do?
We were driving our 2003 36v Series Club Car and it was fine. Stopped for a moment to let the dog do his business, got back in, and totally dead cart. In fact, had to push it home. Ack.
Got home, tried to jump the solenoid but nothing happened. No voltage across the large or small posts with the cart on/forward/pedal depressed. Tried to check the continuity from each side of the solenoid to try and pin point the problem, but no luck-- no voltage anywhere. The cart charges fine. Previous to this the backup buzzer only worked intermittently. I love my darling cart... please help me to bring it back to life. |

Oh, yes... and we checked all the cables and batteries and they read fine at about 6.2 each.

Re: From Darling to Dead.. what to do?
2002 36v CC is a resistor coil cart. I assume the solenoid will not click (as it should) when you try to go? If no click check for power and operation of the 2 micro switches. 1st one at the F&R switch, 2nd one is inside the V glide (pop the cover off)
Solenoid must click before you go anywhere, to make the solenoid click you must have 36v (+) on 1 small post and 36v (-) on the other small post. |

Re: From Darling to Dead.. what to do?
We've checked all the connections including the key switch and the f/w micro switch. The only thing left is to check the micro switch inside the v glide.
Do we need to take out the batteries to be able to successfully get to the switch to test it? I can see the switch inside and I'd hate to go to all the trouble of taking out the batteries if I don't need to. btw... should I use a battery puller to get them out or is there some other better way? thanks all! |

Re: From Darling to Dead.. what to do?
The V-glide cover snaps onto the drivers side. The 3 clips need to be pressed in with a screw driver to release. Rough handling can result in breaking the clips or worse = breaking the V-glide off the frame mount. Removal of the 2 batteries on the drivers side gives the best access

Battery out.. ouch...
We got the batteries out and gained access to the vglide assembly. The micro switch flapper arm (is that a technical term?) that's on top seems to be stuck against the main body of the switch. Should this arm pop up and down freely like the f/r micro switch does? Or is there more resistance inside the vglide that causes it to move when activated? What would be the best way to test this m/s to see if it works?
We're running out of options here... not sure if that's a good or bad thing. lol |

Re: From Darling to Dead.. what to do?
The arm should move like the other switches. My guess is bad V-glide microswitch.

Re: From Darling to Dead.. what to do?
Thanks for the quick reply... we're going to replace the m/s tomorrow. Do we need to take out the whole vglide from the cart housing assembly or can the m/s itself just unscrew and be put back on? It looks like I can easily see one of the mounting screws but not the other. I just don't want to do more work than is necessary.

Re: From Darling to Dead.. what to do?
I THINK you can replace it in the cart, but I cannot remember if you have to have the back cover off to get at the little nuts on the screws. Make sure the main positive and negative from the pack are disconnected first, don't want a fireworks show.
