Default 2x faster in reverse.

87 club car is approximately twice as fast in reverse. Just purchased it. 36v system, 5 solenoids. I know the last po said he added newer batteries, brakes and did something to the wireing. Any knowledge would be helpful.

Sounds like the forward and reverse are swapped. Reverse should be half speed.

The older 36v CC used 18v in reverse for safety. Most people feed 36v in F&R for recreational use. Simply connect your bottom 2 terminal connections on the F&R with a buss bar or short cable to achieve this and solve your problem.

Sounds to me the reverse wire is connected to the last battery in the pack. Reverse will be half speed by using only half the pack voltage. The reverse wire will be conected to the battery in the midle of the pack.

OK. I will check and see if its connected to the last battery. Then I will add a bus bar if that will give me the same forward and reverse speed.

If you add the buss bar it is instead of the cable to the middle of the pack !

Thanks guys. The battery cables were backwards. Now it rides out going forward. I can slam the brakes on and lay rubber down :). Next on my list for another time is to get the lights working.
