Default 48v conversion (need help)

I have a 36v resistor cart that I am trying to convert to 48v. I have installed a pb-6 throtle and an alltrax npx 4844. http://www.alltraxinc.com/files/Doc1...6-wire-dia.pdf this is the diagram I used. My problem is when I got it all hooked up, I smoked the micro switches on the fnr switch,and the pb6. does the key switch connect to the full battery pack voltage, or just 12v? Need help

That is the correct diagram ???? You must have made a mistake somewhere? The key does switch 48v .... What did you use to the key.... positive or negative? and Then where to?

Like scottyb said, that diagram works, although I found it required a little bit of understanding. I upgraded my 91 resistor CC.

Here is how I ran mine - from pos(+) off bat pack (fuse 5 amp) to one side of key - from other side of key to one side of (F/R micro (normally open) - that closes in both F/R) - from other side of F/R micro to one side of PB6 micro (normally closed / closes when pedal is depressed) - from other side of PB6 to both pin 1 on Alltrax & #1 side of diode (white band side) on contactor. That way it requires 3 things before the Alltrax will come on. 1 - Key, 2 - F/R, 3, foot on peddle.

Pins #2 & #3 go to the black and white from the PB6.

There are many ways to skin this cat Basically you just need 48v to the Controller and solenoid. And the throttle input signal to the controller to go. You can power the controller off of the key or the F&R or the PB-6 micro? Each way has it's pluss & minus points, hope this helps. You must have reversed polarity to fry the switches.

A quick overview of the solenoid is :
The solenoid is a HD on/off switch or Contactor
the connection is made /broken between the 2 large terminals. The 2 small terminals are the activation circuit. Typically one terminal will have a constant negative connection to the pack. When Positive power is applied to the second terminal the contact is drawn up against the spring to make contact. When power from either side of the activation circuit is removed then contact is released and the spring pushes it away interrupting the circuit ...It doesn't matter which small terminal is negative or positive.

Thanks for the info. Did'nt have time to work on the cart today. It was late last night when I got finished screwing up, so there is a high possability of some installer errorMatter of fact about a 100% chance. Anyway, probably be about a week or so before I get some more switches and have time to work on it. I let yall know what happens next. Thanks again
