Re: Game On
Hey all here is an update of the game on golf cart. Its got 4 new shocks, leaf spring bushings, 3 new resistors and i have started wiring. I should get the motor on this weekend(after camping of course). I plan to put it together stock and use it for a year and mabye over the winter juice it up. Now for the question ha ha
I plan on putting the motor and bringing home a 28 volt aircraft battery to run the motor and seat the brushes a little, it will run right and not hurt anything? im going to hook the battery straight to the motor. Thanks guys PS i also got the brakes done and working well |

Re: Game On
ok the motor is back on and i brought home a power supply to test it without any solenoids hooked up. raised the back of the cart power to power ground to ground and jumper from power to one of the other posts and ground to the last post. motor should spin correct? so far i have got nothing, am i wrong in my way of thinking? thanks all

Re: Game On
Its a series motor, the two coils get wired in series. There are 4 posts. You reverse one pair to reverse the motor rotation.
Its been a while since I've bench run one. I cant remember which way they go. BTW series motors will accelerate until they grenade if not run with a load. Keep that in mind. I ran mine with 12v just to test and no go boom. Pull up a wiring diagram and you should be able to see the wiring pattern if you look at it for a while. BTW, cart looks great so far! |
