Dumb question...I'm sure!
Everyone is always talking about the obc being a small problem when you upgrade to a 4 or 2g cable. Is the obc picking up current from the cable itself, because mine slides freely back and forth on the cable? There is no real contact unless it is just picking up current like a v-meter. Told you it was dumb. Please explain or dumb it down for me.

Re: Dumb question...I'm sure!
yes it detects current through the cable itself....
Usually you can safely pass a 4 ga cable through the computer, the problem doesn't come until you try passing a 2 ga. The OBC detects pulsing through the cable to help determine voltage in the batteries. If you don't have it through there it will run the charger for like 5 minutes and cut off. It's even worse if you put the computer in backwards.. If you go to 2ga cable the easy bypass for it is to simply run a standard cable through the computer, and your cable from b- to controller (2ga)run around the computer. |

Phasetim,
Thank you, I'll be using 4g and like you said there seems to be room to slide it through. |
