Air filter adapter issue on predator 420.
Hey guys... I purchased an NRracing air filter adapter supposedly made for the gx390s and 420 clones and it doesn't fit my predator 420 motor. It fits my sons 6.5 lifan kart motor though so I assume I got the wrong one. Can anyone confirm that the HF motors have a standard honda spacing and that the adapter should work?
Just wanted to check before I asked for the right one. |

why doesn't it fit? Does it not line up with the studs or are the studs too short? I have read that some air filter adapters will require longer studs for the predator 420cc. If it is the wrong adapter pfmparts com has an adapter made for the Predator 420cc.

Sorry.. I should have mentioned.... The studs are to far apart for the adapter.
The pfm adapter is listed for 390 Hondas and 420 predators. That's what I'm looking for I think... Does a predator 420 use a standard clone carb stud spacing? I guess that's really the question I need an answer to. |

The gx200 is a 6.5hp engine. The gx390 is a 13hp, the 420/440 are stroked and bored versions of the gx390 and about all parts fit all of them aside from the crank/piston. Since the gx200 is much smaller most parts are different, iirc the gx160 is similar to the 200. Sounds like you got a gx200 adapter not a 390 size. The gokart places sell a ton of gx200 parts the 390 big blocks are a side line to them.

Yeah... I have a 200 here on my sons go kart. This adapter fits it. At first I thought I might have ordered the wrong one, but I checked the order and it was the kit for the 390 or clones. I also knew the predator motors are a little bit different than the true honda clones. I just wasn't sure if they messed with carb stud spacing. I'm hoping they will quickly remedy this for me and make it right. We'll see tomorrow. :)

The gokart guys like NR typically, they have helped me with some questions and the stuff I bought was great and came fast, good price....though I'm in the same state I suppose that helps shipping times.
