Seat Foam Restoration
I had seen a bit on a car show and it was about the foam of your seat.
They said there is NOTHING wrong with your foam except it is dry. I was surprised to see the foam restored to looking new by steaming it. They had a two foot or so of about 3/8" pipe feeding the steam.. In stead of getting new I plan to try this considering I have no idea where to get new foam now that I live out in the middle of wilderness. If you get new foam where do you get yours from and how much is the cost ?? |

Re: Seat Foam Restoration
3 and 4" foam costs an arm and a leg. Like $100 for a seat. It is a petroleum product. Google around to see prices.
Also the foam in your cart seat is often a denser composite than the sewing supply store sells? I have used both...... long story short = save your foam at any cost |

Re: Seat Foam Restoration
I have a source for excellent foam...custom cut to size....(rectangular and cube shapes only). They won't do any curved cuts. I've used them for years....I have their foam in all my projects...shoot me a pm
The good foam does cost more than the cheapy stuff.....the prob is shipping due to it's size |

Re: Seat Foam Restoration
Cruise the neighborhood and dumpsters looking for abandoned sofas, they are a great free source. Glue them together for the required thickness.

Re: Seat Foam Restoration
I had to redo my seats due to big chunks taken out. I went to local fabric store and bought left over 2" dense foam that was in clerance rack. Doubled it open using spray foam on bottom and just 2 inch layer on backrest. Cost me about $50 bucks and 15 for reminent tan vinyl.
