I also used that rectifier/regulator on my Suzuki snowmobile/harley cart swap. Another great working idea from Shepard.

Its ABA -- alternator - battery - alternator There's 2 wires from the alternator and the charge wire to the battery

Also the body of the unit must be grounded.

That’s the only reason I’m using this predator engine now so I can be used to key start on the cart.
So far I’m liking the change(even my pulse pump works flawless with this engine)but the charge issue is the only flaw I’m having with this engine.(I don’t have the starter/generator on the cart)
I have my radio removed as I’m going to be adding a extended roof soon so it’s just my headlights and they don’t draw much so till I get the 625 I ain’t going to worry about it as I would have to pull the flywheel to get to it.
I may check the connection to the magneto to see if I used a bad wire(eg broken internally) before giving up.
I almost have enough to get the 625 but had to take care of a few things before I did but I’ll post on here when I get it ordered and it’s on the way(6k rpm is wild if that’s not a typo)
Where did you read the 625 will rev to 6,000 rpm?

That’s why I swapped out my 460 the 6k rpm is extremely tempting for me considering I drive my cart on road(the higher rpm the higher top speed(I plan on getting a two speed rear end and having 12:1 and either 8 or 6:1 gearing in it as I rarely go off roading on my cart.
I will say this key start is much better for me as I don’t need the engine shutting off at traffic lights (with the way some drive here every second counts at a red light)

Btw I ordered the parts I need to get this 420 to charge my battery and am thinking of ditching the governor on it while I’m at it(haven’t hit it so far) will the springs Vegas carts sells work with the hemi head 420???
