Default Battery Gurus , I need help.

I have a camper 33 foot , and I may be taking a long trip soon. I want to find some off grid locations during this excursion and stay there for a while .

My question is . I want to put a large battery bank in the camper. So that my battery use time is longer. As I will need to run a cpap machine all night . And just wondering how many batteries and should they all just be wired together. Positive to positive and neg to neg. Will this give me a longer battery use . Will also be running lights radio and other items off this battery pack. Recharging with a generator or solar panels , depending on situation.
Thanks for the input.

Papa---I am far from a battery guru but I do own a diesel pusher motor home and I will tell you how it is set up. For the "house batteries" I have four 6 volt 230 AH golf cart batteries. Two batteries are wired in series for 12 volts. The other two are wired the same. The two sets are then wired in parallel. This setup has worked well for me and should meet your needs. I don't dry camp a lot so I don't know really how long they will last plus our requirements are probably different. I hope your inverter is large enough to handle the load. The coach has a 2000 watt inverter.

Hope this helps,

Dave

Olman I appreciate the input.

Is there any advantage to using the 6 volt batts. Because i was just gonna use 12 volt deep cycle batts.

ANYBODY ?

Yes the advantage is through capacity and endurance.... The 6 volt battery will store much more usable energy than the 12 bats do....

This is why carts with eight 6 volt battery are more powerful than carts with six 8 volt battery and both are more powerful than carts with four 12 volt battery... All equal 48 volts but each has different storage capasity....
