Good idea, but a bit afraid of stripping out the threads....are they steal or aluminum threads in the pulley?

While puller is tight give bolt a smack like you are trying to drive it in USE A METAL HAMMER. The vibration is what will make it pop. Works everytime.

I wish that were true...couldn`t get in to get a hammer to hit it...used a long metal flat punch and smacked it with a metal hammer till my arm got tired and nothing...acts like it is super glued on there. I tried the puller on my other 95 and it popped right off no problem...doing the smack trick...BUT this thing, that I need to have worked on, won`t budge!!!

I don't know anything of this pulleys location or the type of shaft. If you can use heat on the pulley help to expand it and then whack it, it may release the pulley. If it's too close to a seal or something you can cover that with wet towels, sometimes...Don't burn anything up. Like I said, I don't know how it looks, but that works for me on other machines when it's possible...Good Luck

It's the Drive Clutch Tony!

I had the same problem on my buddies 94, I tightened the puller as hard as I could...
let it sit (tight) for a beer or 2... Then while my buddy held the clutch still,
I used a breaker bar, and slowly gave it another 1/4 turn, and "POP"... it was off!

The driven clutch, however, won't come off until we find a replacement for it

Good luck!!

Did you put a lot of grease on the end of the puller and the threads of the puller, I find lubing it helps. It takes the power wasted in friction away. I have left tension on a clutch and had them jump off 1/2 hour later while I was working on other things. GOOD LUCK.
