Default Cushman 72v Hauler Conversion

I have a question for Bob or anyone else that knows controllers.

Can I buy a Cushman 72v Hauler and get the same performance out of the 350amp 72v controller that i would out of a 72v standard golf cart txt. I know the motors are the same 22hp, but i think the controllers are just a slightly different model number.

I'd appreciate the input. I'd like to buy a hauler and convert it over to a regular 4 seater and get the strong torque out of the 22hp motor.

I've done some 72V Hauler Pro carts. The designs differ based on year of mfr. Early were Sepex DC, newer were AC. Similar to the E-Z-GO models. Textron based.

So essentially a hauler could be programmed for much higher speed?

Seems like a great way to use the capability of the much larger HP motor.
I,m thankful for Bob's expertise!

There was an early version of the AC drive 72V that could reach 45+ MPH, later ones were about 10-12 MPH slower. The primary difference was the controller (current rating) and AC motor HP rating. The higher speed one could turn larger tires and had stronger regen braking to brake extremely well at the higher speeds.

Bob, correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't the AC version Hauler Pro's slaved to the Charger? I worked on a few of them and I thought I remember the Charger was spidered into the control harness?

Bob, do you controller upgrades on hauler pro? I have a 2015 72 volt that I use in NC mountains and would like a little more speed. Thoughts?

letjimdoit: did you have any luck getting reprogrammed? I have a '18 hauler pro x 72V looking for more torque and speed as well. Also in the NC mountains! (Ready for this snow to melt LOL!)
