Re: Server on-off for updates
I suggest providing users with a friendly interface when upgrading, informing them that the website is under maintenance. This approach ensures that neither users nor search engines perceive the website as experiencing technical difficulties.

Re: Server on-off for updates
PLEASE let me know in this thread any issues, like database, timeouts, insufficient storage...whatever . A little feedback would help cause I don't think I'm seeing ALL the issues.
AND I welcome any suggestions. The problems are coming from the fact we have all these new "guest" users. True guests or bots doesn't matter. Biggest issue so far has been sessions table filling up and causing the database error. I've tweaked the cron jobs and increased the size of the tmp_table. I think we have the storage issue fixed and some others. Im trying to get it stable before doing the OS upgrade. Now...does anyone know anything about ModSecurity? We have our own VPN. |

Re: Server on-off for updates
If anyone gets a database error page that occasionally pops up since the software upgrade, please clear browser cache for the site.

Re: Server on-off for updates
Roady did a server OS update starting last Thursday through Saturday,
so you might've noticed a number of database errors then, thing's have been pretty good since! |

Re: Server on-off for updates
I was getting a few database errors this week, very intermittent, and the provider said it may be an individual cache issue on my computer which was exactly the case. I cleared browser cache on my computer for the site and all is well. Glad no one else has experienced this issue.
