I have attached images of the cable end so you can validate where the wires go.
Thanks! The pics are helpful. I think I may have the wrong cable and willing to a different one. Is this a similiar cable you used?

I think I have an ezsync cable somewhere and I believe it works but I would buy the real deal just to make sure.

Greatly appreciate your help and patience with me. When you mention genuine/real deal cable...are you referring to the brand or chipset? I'd prefer to pay more and buy the right cable than try something that maynot work....my head is spinning looking at cables on amazon right now.

I would stay away from Amazon and go to DigiKey or Mouser to buy the true fdti chip.

Thanks for the tip, I will do that! Do you have a 3pin or 6pin...or does it even matter?

I just bought the plain cable and used just the orange, yellow and black wires. The rest I separated and insulated the ends. For a short cut get an ATX cable extension and cut the end off then splice the wires.

Thanks again! Once the ftdi cable gets in I'll give it a try and let ya know how it goes.

FYI, I used the wiring part of this.... (not the usb to serial cable)

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...0?ie=UTF8&th=1

This Molex Cable

https://www.ebay.com/itm/182276463977

And this USB to Serial Cable

https://www.ebay.com/itm/263711394959

I am using this to power it up, I can not get it to connect when I am powered from my cart batteries for some reason....

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Hope this helps

Just updating this with better pictures of the programming cable adapter per request.
here is a list of the components I used

Again you do need to also power this controller up either in the cart or with a power supply. The you tube video is helpful to show how.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...0?ie=UTF8&th=1
(The cable in this kit would not work for me but I used this particular breakout adapter)

https://www.ebay.com/itm/18227646397...Bk9SR4rEn-CxYw

https://www.ebay.com/itm/263711394959

Ive used this cable setup to program both the 36-48v 500a version and also the 400a 72v version clones now.
