Lifted TXT Bounces Like Crazy off Road
2012 TXT 48V When we got it there were no rear shocks and rear springs almost flat. We installed Steeleng 6 inch lift and used heavy duty 3 leaf springs and put in new rear shocks, which are very extended and have no weight on them till we jump in. We also put on flip flop seat (extra 120 pounds). We have not replaced the front shocks. The tires are 23 inch on 12 rims. I fully inflated them to the maximum pressure. While driving on ranch roads this weekend we were bouncing all over the place even at a snails pace. One of guys says let air out of tires to help. Any other advice to help, or is this just how it is till the leaf springs sag a little?

Air pressure may help, but probably too much spring.

Might try 8 lbs air pressure and I'm with meimk HD springs are stiff also shocks don't hold weight only dampen,
if they are extended all the way you might want to get some Shock Extensions so they ride in the middle. https://www.summitracing.com/parts/m...iABEgJKePD_BwE |

Re: Lifted TXT Bounces Like Crazy off Road
the max pressure listed on the side of the tire is the max you can safely use to seat the tire on the rim. if you leave them at that pressure, it will be like riding on a solid rubber rim like an old kids trike.
It is not suggest to run them anywhere near that amount. Most ATV tires run around 5psi +/- Put them down to 5psi and then adjust from there for the right "feel" when your loaded up with people. |

Re: Lifted TXT Bounces Like Crazy off Road
Thank you all for the advice, I will air down the tires and see how that goes. I also will make or buy the shock bolt extensions so the rear shocks actually do something. Reviews on the link said it was not compatible thread (Fine vs standard). I will check and see if mine are 24 or 16 per inch.

Re: Lifted TXT Bounces Like Crazy off Road
Your elec cart may be different than gas, but gas cart the front is lighter. I used to lift the front up in the air by hand, I'm not a kid anymore I try to not do that these days lol. I run 8psi front and 12 rear, or 15 rear when I haul trailers or dirt in the dump box. This is between hard ride too much pressure and slowing the cart down with too little pressure. At 5psi my cart would hardly go with stock power. Now it has a clone but it works well this way I have no reason to change. This is with 22 wide knobby atv rated tires with stiff sidewalls. 22x11 I think.

Thank you Stove Bolt! and others! I plan to try 10 psi in front to start and 12 in rear. I ordered the Shock Extensions, you were right they were 3/8 x 24 thread.
