Default 22in Tires on 6in lift kit Club Car

Everything I read says 23in tires for a 6 in lift. Would 22in tires be a terrible idea? going on a club car DS.

Looking at 22in tires since there seems to be more DOT Stinger tires available at that size since im looking for 12in wheels instead of 14 for a smoother ride.

Anyone have any pictures?

22s are 4 inches taller than stock 18s. Mathemaically a 4 or 5" lift will do. The higher you lift the cart the more you raise the center of gravity, and the more unstable it becomes.
22s reduce the torque lost compared to 23s.

I don't have an option for a 4 or 5in lift since I front brakes that I'm looking to keep.

I need DOT street legal tires but still want to do some light off roading while not destroying the grass on my property, so DOT stingers seem logical which seem to come in 22in sizes.

So are the 22in tires a bad idea?

What lift did you end up getting? 22” tires are not a bad idea.

I haven't ordered it yet. Im piecing everything out at the moment so i can do the brakes while im in there.

It seems my options are the jakes spindle kit. Seems like spindle lifts arent as good so I don't think thats my best option.

So that leaves me with the SGC 6in double A arm kit that works with the CC Carryall with 4 brakes. I want to keep the front brakes since im trying to get the cart registered. When I next speak to the person at the department of transportation, I will confirm that mass requires front brakes.

Ideally I'd like to run a 4 in lift with stinger 22 tires because I will do most of my driving on side streets and simple trails. They have 23in stingers but only for 14 in rims. I'd prefer 12 in wheels for a smoother ride. but 23X10.5X12 doesnt exist in DOT Stinger tires. I'm not trying to beat the hell out of this cart and will mostly be driving my two kids around.

In short, have to pick 6in kit. so its either 22in wheels with 12in tires or 23 tires with 14 wheels.

I just replaced my aggressive 23” with a slightly more road friendly 22”. Loving the ride and honestly you can’t tell a difference height wise

22s will look just fine. I put 22s on these below and never thought about it. (The Red Yamaha is a 4” lift and the other 2 are 6” lifts)
I’ve also used 23” but sometimes certain sizes are significantly cheaper and more easier to find at the time so that’s what I get.

Thank you both for the replies and pictures. Definitely going with 22s. Going to order the parts, wheels and brakes and do the lift over the winter.

thanks again.

Yeah 22s will be fine. I had a cart with a 4" lift and 22s that I recently sold.

My current three carts all have 6" lifts with 22.5" tires.
